ApoB: what it is, values and what high or low means

A protein that sits on every LDL, VLDL, IDL and Lp(a) particle — exactly one per particle. Measuring it counts those particles directly. Particles, not only the cholesterol inside them, are what lodge in artery walls. When LDL cholesterol and ApoB disagree, ApoB usually tells the clearer story about long-term risk.

Values

Ranges vary by method. Optimal bands can be narrower than standard laboratory reference ranges; this one is widely used, not a target set for you.
