hs-CRP: what it is, values and what high or low means
C-reactive protein, made by the liver when there is inflammation. The high-sensitivity test picks up the low levels a standard CRP misses. Low-grade inflammation that stays raised is linked with heart and metabolic risk. It is read alongside your lipids, never on its own.
Values
Ranges vary by method. Optimal bands can be narrower than standard laboratory reference ranges; this one is widely used, not a target set for you.

High and low
A cold can lift it for days, so a single high value is re-checked. consult your doctor
